Mallika Sherawat joins the 'Fauj'

Love her or hate her but you cant' dare to ignore her! Mallika Sherawat's killer rampage in KHWAISH and MURDER was nothing less than a storm! After lying low for a while she has bounced back again! And this time lady luck seems to be shining on her than ever before! Last week saw the release of SHAADI SE PEHLE and currently she is busy doing the maverick Mani Ratnam's Abhishek-Aishwarya starrer GURU.

In the meantime this ravishing starlet has got another reason to smile! It has been reported that producer Ravi Walia is fabricating a movie titled FAUJ MEIN MAUJ to be directed by debutant Murli Nagavalli, who was an assistant to Priyadarshan. The movie in question is supposedly based on the Goldie Hawn starrer Hollywood comedy PRIVATE BENJAMIN. And guess what the producers have decided to cast Mallika to play the role of Goldie Hawn!

PRIVATE BENJAMIN was a 1980 comedy about a sheltered high society woman Judy Benjamin (Goldie Hawn) who joins the army after her husband's death. There she confronts the sexual advances of her superior and on resisting is transferred to the NATO headquarters in Europe. There she again meets the Frenchman Henri and they decide to marry.

The Oscar winning blonde had received a lot of acclaim for her performance in PRIVATE BENJAMIN. The film was directed by Howard Zieff and Eileen Brennan, Armand Assante, Robert Webber co-starred.

FAUJ MEIN MAUJ would be structured to suit the Indian audience and would be more on the lines on another mad-cap comedy POLICE ACADEMY, Nagavalli was quoted by the media as saying. Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav have been zeroed in to play pivotal parts while the search for the actor to play repressive Colonel is on. The film will be made under the banner of Rising Star Entertainment and in all probabilities will go on floors in June.

And yes, Goldie Hawn is currently in India on a casual visit. We wonder if this news has reached her! Anyway, a warm welcome to her by Bollywood indeed!
